Policy



1. General remarks

1.1  “Journal of Engineering Sciences” (hereinafter the Journal) belongs to mass – media covering the achievements of science and technology in the field of modern production and machine building technologies throughout the world as well as theoretical and applied industrial issues.

1.2  In the light of aims set, the Journal assigns the following tasks :

  • to cover the achievements of science and technology in the in the field of modern production and machine building technologies;
  • to give research workers and young scientists involved in the field of modern production and machine building technologies an opportunity to publish their works in the Journal;
  • to increase the readers’ information competence and production culture;
  • to promote the education of specialists in the field of modern production and machine building technologies in Eastern Europe.

1.3 Functioning of the Journal is regulated by the laws of Ukraine, rules and regulations of Sumy State University. The Journal does not encourage religious extremism, fundamentalism, formation of destructive oppositions, religious, race national and other intolerance, and anticonstitutional activity. The journal operates on the basis of universal democracy principles, freedom of speech, equality of rights, supports new ideas concerning achievements of science and technology in the field of modern production and machine building technologies. The journal welcomes ideas promoting the development of techniques, technology, industrial production and science in general.


2. Requirements to articles

2.1  All the data published in the Journal should correspond to the point 1.3 of Policy of the Journal.

2.1.1  The article presented by the author should be the product of his own idea. Any form of plagiarism should not be allowed. The use of works by other authors should be possible only as a reference, quotation, description, but not as copying of a work, borrowing the ideas of other people, presenting them as one’s own.

2.1.2 If the editorial stuff finds out that a work by an author does not correspond to the point 2.1.1, i.e. is a case of  plagiarism, the work should be immediately excluded from the edition of the Journal, the editorial board at that should inform the reader, put the author on the blacklist and never publish his works in the Journal again 2.2 The editorial stuff should have a right to deny the publication of a work to the author without giving its reasons. 2.3 If a work does not correspond to any of the requirements, the Editorial Board should have the right to ask the author to change it or make alterations to it on its own with consent of the author. If the author refuses to plot corrections, the work should not be published. 2.4 The Editorial Board should have a right to carry over the publication of a work to another edition.Copyright


3. Copyright

3.1  If the materials of an article are accepted for publication, the authors convey the following rights to the founders of Journal’s Editorial Board:

3.1.1 Publication of these materials in Ukrainian (Russian, English) and distribution of their printed version;

3.1.2 Translation into English (for articles in Russian and Ukrainian) and distribution of the printed version of  translation;

3.1.3 Distribution of the electronic version of the article and also distribution of the English electronic  version of the article(for articles in Russian and Ukrainian) through any electronic means (posting on the official web – site of the Journal, in electronic data – bases, repositories, etc.)

3.2  Hereby the author retains the right (with no consent of the Editorial Board or the founders of the Journal):

3.2.1 to use the materials of the article fully or partially for educational purposes;

3.2.2 to use the materials of the article fully or partially while writing his own works to gain an academic title;

3.2.3 Tto use the materials of the article while preparing some remarks, conference reports and oral presentations;

3.2.4 to publish electronic copies of the article  (including the final electronic version downloaded from the Journal’s official web – site) on:

  • personal web –resources of the authors (web- sites, web pages, blogs etc.);
  • web – resources of the establishments where the authors work (including electronic institutional repositories);
  • non –profit web- resources of free access (for example, arXiv.org).

3.2.5 in any case either a bibliographic reference to the article or a hyperlink to its electronic copy on the Journal’s official web – site is obligatory.


4. General rules of publication

4.1  If the author files his work with his contact information to the editorial stuff of the Journal, the author should automatically agree with the Journal’s Policy.

4.2  If the author does not agree with the Journal’s Policy, he should discuss his terms with the editorial stuff of the Journal. If the parties fail to strike a compromise, the work should not be published.


5. Terms of changing and confirmation of the Journal’s Policy

5.1 The Journal’s Policy and changes to it are passed by the Editorial Board, editor- in- chief and confirmed by the Founder.

5.2 Changes and supplements to The Journal’s Policy are offered by the Founder on his own initiative and by the editorial stuff with the approval of the editor- in – chief.
